Partner Code 128979 for AvaTrade: What You Actually Get

I get asked about partner codes constantly. Usually the same question: do they give you free trades or discounted spreads?

Short answer: no. AvaTrade charges zero commission on forex. You pay the spread. The spread is the fee. A partner code doesn't change that.

What 128979 does is unlock the welcome bonus. Extra funds in your account based on how much you put in. Simple as that.

Bonus amounts?

Put in $1,000, receive $200 bonus.

$2,000 adds $400.

Deposits between $5,000 and $9,999 get $1,000.

Deposit $100,000+ and you can get up to $14,000. That's for serious capital.

UK accounts start at £160 for £800 deposited. Top tier reaches £11,200.

Minimum to open an account is $100. Minimum for any bonus is $1,000.

The field is hidden

Registration page. After you enter your phone number, look for small text that says "Have a Partner Code?" with an arrow next to it. Click the arrow. A text box appears. Type **128979**.

Most people miss it because it doesn't look like a proper form field until you click.

If the system rejects it, don't panic. Finish signing up. Message your account manager before you deposit. Ask them to add code 128979. Standard practice for them.

There's a catch with the bonus

A trading volume condition applies.

Roughly 10,000 units traded per $1 bonus. You'd need to trade 2,000,000 units to unlock a $200 bonus. Slower if you're trading micro lots. Regular trading gets you there sooner than you'd expect.

Your deposit is yours. Withdraw it whenever you want. Only the bonus has the restriction.

One thing worth knowing: while the bonus is locked, it still counts toward your margin. Allows avatrade partner code for slightly larger trades. Newer traders benefit from that extra cushion.

AvaTrade in brief

Six regulatory licenses: FCA, ASIC, CySEC, FSCA, FSA Japan, ADGM. Client funds sit in segregated accounts. Operating since 2006.

Platforms include MT4, MT5, a mobile app called AvaTradeGO, and browser-based WebTrader. Choose based on preference. One account for all platforms.

EUR/USD spread starts at 0.9 pips. Zero commission.

Watch out for the inactivity fee. $50 per quarter if you don't trade for three months.

Who this works for

Beginners wanting solid regulation and platform choice. Anyone who wants the option to protect trades with AvaProtect.

Not ideal for

Scalp traders. The spreads are fine but not exceptional. ECN brokers will beat them on cost if you're trading high volume.

Anyone who wants to own actual shares. No real share ownership here.

American traders. They don't take US clients.
